Let’s Amplify! 2024 WBENC National Conference

ON ITS AXIS had the opportunity to join The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) AMPLIFY Conference in Denver, CO, from March 19-22, 2024. The conference was expected to draw over 4,500 women CEOs and business owners and is the largest gathering of its kind, aimed at fostering collaboration, mentorship, and networking opportunities among women entrepreneurs.

ON ITS AXIS sought woman-owned certification in 2023. As an innovation firm founded in 2009 and incorporated in late 2014, the decision to incorporate was important for representation purposes and strategic growth goals. Executive Kelly O’Connell was in attendance and connected with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and fellow women-owned businesses over a powerful 4 days. During the conference, O’Connell shared ON ITS AXIS’ framework for helping companies prepare for the future.

“Having attended the NGLCC International Business and Leadership Conference last August and Unity Week last November, it was important to continue to build on the relationships we’ve been developing with corporate leaders and fellow business owners. At this year’s WBENC National Conference, I had the opportunity to share ON ITS AXIS’ value proposition through showcase examples explaining how we help companies grow and prepare for the future through our proven framework across 3 distinct practice areas: profit resilience (product innovation), change agility (people innovation), and systems optimization (process innovation),” says Kelly O’Connell, Executive Vice President.

With over 14 million women-owned businesses in the U.S. employing nearly 12.2 million people and generating $2.7 trillion in revenue, women entrepreneurs are a driving force in the economy (2024 Impact of Women-Owned Businesses report). And yet there remains a disparity in revenue and capital access for women-owned businesses, which WBENC aims to address through its programs and initiatives.

“We are proud to have this certification and raise visibility and awareness of women-owned businesses in the U.S. delivering value to corporates. In addition to growing our business in terms of revenue, we are proud to have established partnerships with other woman-owned businesses who are WBENC-certified to increase capacity and participate in larger contracts as a Prime or Subcontractor,” says Shelley Iocona, Founder and Principal.

ON ITS AXIS is a WBENC-certified WBE and WOSB, Certified LGBTBE®, and CPUC certified.
